Lessons on Monday, Tuesday

Saturday, November 23, 2019 by Tom Rutt | Uncategorized

We've started working on our Christmas books for the Holiday Lunch Concerts. Just like all music, work on it slowly to figure things out and then as you become more comfortable, you can play it faster if you like.  Play the ones you like for your parents.  It's a fun way to share your music.

Parents, grandparents and friends are welcome to come listen to your lunch concert. Make sure it's on your calendar at home.

Check the lessons schedule as the Wed/Thurs lessons have been put into Monday or Tuesday.

5th Grade band is TUESDAY AT THE MS. 6th grade band at the MS on Monday.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Nice Concert 5th Grade Band!

A "Well Done" to our 5th grade band students!  The rehearsal on Thursday went very well and I've heard many good compliments about the band concert.  We know start preparing for our Holiday Lunch Concerts.  Work on the selected songs playing the  melody.  6th grade students may also try some of the harmony lines (B,C, D).  As the holidays approach, it's  important to keep up or get back to a practice routine on your instruments.  Remember to write down your practice time and practice it until it sounds good.

Have a good week,

Good Luck 5th Grade Band on Thursday!

The 5th Grade Band will have their concert as part of the public school  5th Grade music program on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the high school  auditorium. They will practice with the public school band that afternoon and can leave their instruments at the school so they will be there that night.  They will play three songs and then may leave.  Dress for the concert is nice clothes. As Mrs.Hanna, who is covering things for Mrs. Jepson has told the kids, don't go buy a new outfit, just look nice. I will not be able to attend the concert due to my responsibility with the Festival of Lessons and Carols. I look forward to watching it on SMU's replay. Our students have been working hard on their songs and I know they'll do great on their "First Concert."

Have a good week and get those practice records signed,
