Good Lessons

Our lessons have been going well. This is a good time to make progress in our lesson books.  The songs and things we learn there make our band songs with Mrs. Bush and Mrs. Boyens go so much better. The 5th grade students have one song to work on for their next concert.  6th grade students will need to  be practicing their solos every day as we will start practicing with Mrs. Kaldahl after chapel this Wednesday.

5th Grade band is TUESDAY/THURSDAY AT THE MS. 6th grade band at the MS on  Mon/Wed/Fri.

Practice like you are performing,

This Thursday, Mary, Hadley, Tucker and Owen will join with the other selected honor band students from the public school and head to Sioux City on Thursday to take part in the Strong Foundations 6th Grade Honor Band at  East High School in Sioux City. There are two bands of 100 each and they are directed by outstanding area music educators. They will present a concert that night at 6 p.m.  Our students have been working hard on their music and are looking forward to playing with other exceptional musicians from northwest Iowa.  Mrs. Boyens and myself will accompany the students that day so there are no lessons on Thursday.

Daily practice is the key to success,

Good Start to 2020!

We had a good first week of lessons. Luckily no one was sick. Wash those hands and washing your mouthpiece wouldn't hurt either. With the cold weather comes colds, so try and stay healthy. Woodwinds should put a lightly moist paper towel in their cases a couple of times a week to help your pads not dry out like our skin. 6th Grade should be working on honor band and band solos.

5th Grade band is TUESDAY/THURSDAY AT THE MS. 6th grade band at the MS on Mon/Wed/Fri.

Have your parents sign your practice record,
